I received my unit and downloaded the App to my Galaxy S4 (Android version 4.4.2). I put in a battery. I could pair successfully and load the Samsung TV remote, but the TV didn't respond at all. I started troubleshooting. It turns out the problem was that I used an old battery that I had lying around. I didn't think it would be a problem because the voltmeter reading was 3.1V (open circuit). Besides, I was able to pair to the tablet, and I loaded and tried several remotes, but none worked to control the TV. So, I measured the battery voltage WHILE it was installed and found that it was under 2V. It shouldn't have dropped that far, so I concluded the battery was the problem. It was. A fresh battery made it work better. I won't go into other troubles in this topic.
I say all this only to warn people that there is no indicator that the battery is low except that it stops controlling the device. The confusing part is that the bluetooth part allows pairing just fine. This is not surprising since the bluetooth is very low power and the LED uses lots of power, but this behavior is confusing to the end user.
In any case, it would be nice to have a way to know that the battery is dying, especially since low power bluetooth continues to operate long after the LED stops working.
